PLAYBILL: Alice Ripley, Daisy Eagan, Sally Mayes, and More Will Offer Small Town Confessions
Phil Geoffrey Bond's evening of monologues is part of the Broadway Bound Theatre Festival.
Tony winners Daisy Eagan and Alice Ripley will be part of the Broadway Bound Theatre Festival's staging of Phil Geoffrey Bond's Small Town Confessions, which will be presented August 10 at 12:30 PM, August 12 at 3:30 PM, and August 14 at 7:30 PM at The Theater at 14th St. Y.
Joining Eagan and Ripley will be Tony nominees Sally Mayes and Sharon McNight as well as playwright Bond, George Kimmel, Kelli Rabke, Jeff Tuohy, and Tyler Whitaker. Stephen Nachamie directs, with stage management by Jason Richard.
Small Town Confessions is an evening of monologues by residents of Anitola, Louisiana. “Rumors of encounters with martians, a special stopover from Diana Ross, an obsession with the musical Wicked, a has-been Walt Disney World employee, a chat with the bride of Satan and the creative use of spray glitter are all tales told in this homespun account of small town living, hosted by Jobeth Maybelline, manicurist to the town and keeper of community secrets,” according to press notes.
The Festival, with a goal of becoming a launching pad for regional, Off-Broadway, and Broadway transfers, runs July 30–August 20.
